Jelly Belly 'Holiday Favorites' review.
1. Candy Cane- Tastes like slightly stale peppermint. Very much evocative of a candy cane one accidentally packes up with the ornaments then furtively eats the next year like some sad animal. Good job.
2. Cranberry Sauce- Initially sorta bitter but resolves into a tart crantastic finish, like one has picked the dried juice ring from around the mouth of an Ocean Spray bottle. Chewy! Efficient execution.
3. Pumpkin Pie- Notes of cinnamon and what I can only describe as 'beta carotene taste' blended with absolutely nothing else at all. Meh. I ain't mad at it.
4. Hot Chocolate - While I do taste chocolate, the 'hot' vibe is indeed dubious. Who cares? It's Christmas!
5. Eggnog- Starts off with an urgent sour note reminiscent of a massive Mimosa induced vomiting episode I inflicted on myself last summer but upon further chewing is actually not bad. Congratulations for successfully creating, marketing and selling what is essentially a nutmeg jelly bean, guys. 🍸🍸🍸
Enjoy!
